| Description | Cooking for executives at Fine Palate
If ever you wanted to know how to prepare delicious, healthy Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls for a large dinner party, you should have come to the Fine Palate near Newton Circle on March 5th. The invitation originated from the BLBG to its executives who all share a shortage of time to spare in the kitchen. It promised almost everything one could possibly compress in one evening: ambiance while "networking" around the stove, learning a few tricks of the culinary trade to impress friends and clients with a minimum of time and effort. Best of all, when all was said and done, one would enjoy the fruits of one's own labor with a few good bottles of wine around a large cool marble table. Luckily a number of executives had room on their agenda for this culinary extravaganza.
End result: three brave men and nine ladies, some straight from the office with briefcase under the arm, showed up in Heather Barrie's stylish kitchen. They learned how to cure salmon while sipping a glass of Chardonnay. They made notes how to prepare a deliciously healthy Tiger Prawn and Mango Salad. They were introduced into the ultimate secret how to avoid under- or overcooking a good sirloin roast. "Medium Rare" covers a wide safety zone with the biggest margin for error.
The grand finale was a heavenly low fat, low calorie Tiramisu. You think this impossible? We can be bribed to give away the secret. If you now feel sorry to have missed this culinary networking highlight, please keep an eye on the BLBG's calendar as we might plan this again. |
